After a hiatus of more than 10 years Malaysia will be sending a Wild Card entries to this year’s MotoGP 125cc event. Elly Idzlianizar Ilias and Mohd Zulfahmi Khairuddin were short listed from the Malaysian Wild Card program which initially started with 16 participants.

Four young hopefuls, Elly Idzlianizar Ilias, Md. Iskandar Raduan, Mohd. Farid Ahmad and Mohd Zulfahmi Khairuddin are working hard to represent Malaysia for a spot in 125cc class. The former 250cc MotoGP rider, Shaharol Yuzy is in charge of passing his experience to the four young riders in the Malaysian Wildcard program. Shaharol is confident that any of the four riders have the chance racing into MotoGP 125cc class race as a Wildcard entry.

Malaysia has played host to MotoGP for 19 years, a pact which started in 1991. Coming to October, motorsports fans will be treated to the world’s biggest motorcycle race, and perhaps, the most exciting motor racing event worldwide at the Sepang International Circuit.

Team Petronas Syntium made their way up to win the race completing 306 laps in 12 hour Merdeka Endurance Race. The grand race was flagged off by Motorsport Association of Malaysia Chairman Dato’ Azman Yahya after the National anthem was played.

Defending champion team Porsche Club Singapore is set to start the tenth edition of the Merdeka Millennium Endurance Race tomorrow ahead of 43 cars; 15 cars in class O, 10 in class A1 and 19 in class A2. Come and watch the excitement where entrance to circuit is free.

Marchy Lee marked his return to the racing scene with a pole to flag win during the Super Sprint race of the Formula V6 Asia at Sepang International Circuit today. Prior to the race, Lee mentioned “It was a good surprise and I am happy for the surprise pole position that I received as we had some troubles during the qualifying with our tyre pressures. The race will be close and it will be a great race”.
 

It was a good start to the season for the Petronas Syntium Team driver, Fariqe Hairuman, who scored an emphatic win on home ground in Asian Touring Car Series. The 24 year old led from pole to finish, leaving his competitors behind him by a good 18 seconds.
 

The Malaysian hopes to raise the flag proudly in front of the home crowd that will no doubt be in full support of the touring car driver. Hairuman set a time to beat with 1:13.180 on lap 10 of the first Free Practice Session today.
 

The Asian Festival Of Speed has begun with Armaan Ebrahim setting the fastest overall time in the Free Practice Sessions held at Sepang International Circuit today.  The young Indian driver clocked the fastest time of 1:00.534 on the North track of the circuit in what is set to be an impressive debut season in Formula V6 Asia with Team TARADTM.
 

The talented 20 year old will be competing for the 2007 season of the Formula V6 Asia with team Eurasia Motor sport. When asked if he would be jet-lagged for the race this weekend, the driver, who arrived yesterday morning from the UK said, “I’m not sure, I really don’t know how I cope with the traveling , but so far I’ve been able to handle it.
