- GT Association announces that the
season of AUTOBACS SUPERGT 2007 series
will begin on the 17th of March at
Suzuka Circuit, and the 4th round of the
series is held at Sepang International
Circuit on 24th June, under the name of
Japan GT Championship Malaysia
This year, Malaysia will celebrate the
50th Anniversary since declaring
independence, which also means that
Malaysia and Japan will mark the 50th
year of diplomatic relations
Henceforth, the Foreign Ministry of
Japan has designated this year of 2007
to be the "Japan-Malaysia Friendship
Year" and moreover the SUPER GT Malaysia
event has been named to be one of
important cultural exchange programs
between the two nations, in honor of
this special year
In the past few years, teams from Japan
have been testing at Sepang during the
wintertime in Japan as their first
testing of the season.
This year the private testing of 3
manufacturers, Toyota, Nissan and Honda
are carried out from 27th January until
the 2nd of February at Sepang.
